Here's a screenshot of the behavior I am seeing on a migrated profile. So what I am hoping to do is either get the prompt to show up, or to "respond" to it by setting it in the registry so that the prompt doesn't have to appear anymore. It doesn't appear that the program is hung, per se, but rather that it's not prepared to proceed until the prompt is responded to, but the prompt is never shown to allow me to do so. As a result, the program is stuck waiting for that to occur, and because it never does, it can't actually open the sticky note and allow me to proceed. It looks like what happens is that the Insights prompt is supposed to appear but it just. It's not that I need to migrate the notes it's that, if a user profile has been migrated from Windows 7, notes can't be launched at all. I think I may have been unclear about what the problem is. Thanks, I appreciate the attempt, but that doesn't seem to have fixed it. Is there a way I can set this prompt by registry so that it doesn't hold up the entire process? I have already tried resetting the sticky notes app, as well as completely uninstalling and reinstalling it. This appears to be the step that doesn't happen on a profile that's been migrated, but I don't know why. At this point I am asked if I want to Enable insights or not. If I log into the computer with a different profile, one that was not migrated, then I can open sticky notes just fine. This window cannot be closed unless I log off entirely. If I try to open Sticky Notes on my machine, the screen dims as it would when a new sticky note is created, but nothing ever appears. We use ForensiT Transwiz ( ) as our user state migration tool and the problem appears to be related to the userstate. A couple people, myself included, found that we cannot open the new Sticky Notes built into Windows 10. We started rolling out Windows 10 this year, and slowly we're updating everyone from 7 to 10.
